Backyard Helitotter for your kids this summer

Summer is a time where kids go out to play, although more and more children these days tend to stay cooped up in the confines of their homes simply because of the latest hit title on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Well, before they are addicted to video game consoles, you might want to do your part in making sure they love the outdoors, by starting with the Backyard Helitotter. This helicopter-shaped teeter totter is capable of handling up to to four children on lively backyard flights, where having a child on each side jumper seat will result in the up-and-down rocking motion. To achieve a “full flight”, just make sure there are two more children sitting in the dual gauge-equipped cockpit and they will be able to use their imagination in controlling copter’s movement. With a maximum capacity of 400 lbs., it shouldn’t be a problem to cater for children of all shapes and sizes. Bear in mind that this is no Ikea project, as it takes a good two hours to assemble, assuming yo...

Redakai Trading Cards – New Cartoon, Cool Game

I’m sure most of us are all too familiar with Bakugan, the wildly successful Spin Master Ltd. property. Well, the company wants to wow us again by introducing us to a brand new boys action series, Redakai: Conquer The Kairu. A co-production between Spin Master and Zodiak Kids/Marathon Media, the televised series will debut on the Cartoon Network in the U.S. in the second half of 2011. Immediately after the series’ debut, Spin Master will roll out a highly original and innovative trading card-based role-playing game. What makes it different, besides the visually fantastic stereoscopic 3-D display, is that instead of having to track damage, power upgrades, and character status in your head, when a character is attacked, you use another card to overlay a visual effect on your character’s art. When they are eventually transformed, the art will be replaced entirely, but transparent layers left along the edge allow for stats and health to progress as your “animated” character con...

Fly like an eagle with Hammacher

Remember the R. Kelly hit song, “Fly like an eagle”? Well, with those living in the northern hemisphere swinging into spring, it makes perfect sense to start planning on how you are going to spend more time outdoors with your loved ones – be it a picnic or just playing catch. Well, Hammacher has a new toy for you to, er, toy around with, where we’re talking about the 9 1/2′ Remote Controlled Bald Eagle. Now this American icon will now come in the form of a toy, where it boasts of the form of an engine and propeller-powered prodigious avian which is capable of soaring up to 100′ in the air. Meant to create and inspire awe from all who see it, the eagle’s 9 1/2′ wingspan is capable of creating an airfoil which will catch the wind to provide lift and enable broad turns. More on this pretty unique toy in the extended post if your interest has been piqued. The 9 1/2′ Remote Controlled Bald Eagle’s engine will tip the scales at less...

    Chewbacca Talking 15″ Plush

Gotta love the tag line of this plush toy – “From a galaxy fur fur away…”. Well, everyone knows the George Lucas has more than enough money to spend over a few lifetimes, but that doesn’t mean the master sci-fi storyteller (some might beg to differ) thinks that he has enough dosh in the bank – otherwise, why would he come out and say that he will release all six Star Wars movies in 3D from 2012 onwards? Well, you might want to get on all the Star Wars goodness with the Chewbacca Talking 15″ Plush a year earlier, where he retails for £29.99 while sporting rather lifelike fur and an oversized head. Give his tummy a nice, big squeeze and he will let loose the classic Wookie “Haaaaaaarn” sound to keep you entertained. Share ...

Glux – Because You Really Do Need It

I guess it all started with Play-Doh, then we had modeling clay, then came the ultimate moldable time killer, Silly Putty. I used to spend hours making it bounce, pressing it into the Sunday funnies and stretching out all the faces and then, well, that was about it. We have had a few interesting new compounds, but nothing that could kill a Sunday like Silly Putty. Until now… Enter the world of Glux. Glux is a unique super putty that can bounce, it can stretch, it can tear like a piece of paper and it can even shatter like a piece of glass or ceramic. You can use your Thermochromic Glux to work out your stress, exercise your hands or unlock your creative genius. This particular Thermochromic Glux arrives a solid orange color; that is, until you touch or rub it, thats right, you really need to fondle your Glux. The Glux reacts to your body’s heat and will turn from orange to yellow, kind of like a mood Glux. You can create two color designs, draw pictures on your Glux, or ju...

Triops – Move Over Sea Monkeys!

Remember Sea-Monkeys? I couldn’t wait to set up my little plastic tank and hatch my own little sea monkey family, and teach them all the tricks listed on the box, and feed them, and take them places, and I would have done all those things too… if I ever got to see the suckers. I know they were there, little tiny pinpoints spotted in the sunlight, but they were so small, even my hopes of naming them were dashed. But now we have another instant pet, Triops. Triops are actually really cool shrimp that look a lot like mini horseshoe crabs and they are considered living fossils, with a history that reaches back to the Carboniferous period, 300 million years ago. They have pretty much survived unchanged in a state of suspended animation. So now you get the chance to bring these prehistoric monsters back to life, just by adding water to the eggs. Cool. Triops have 3 eyes and can grow up to be 2 inches long! They hatch in around 24 hours and can double in size daily, kind of like me w...

Computer Engineer Barbie – Does Barbie like Windows?

I have to admit that as a kid I was never a Barbie fan, and all that Ken business, I for one was glad when they broke-up. I always wondered why they never made “perfect divorce Barbie” She could have come with the Dream House, the Corvette and most of Ken’s stuff, including half his paycheck, but no, they made baby-sitter Barbie, ballerina Barbie and dog groomer Barbie, dolls I could never really get into, until now… Please meet the newest addition to the “Barbie I Can Be…” collection, and the first profession ever chosen by popular vote, the Barbie I Can Be a Computer Engineer doll. In my opinion, the coolest of all Barbie Dolls, THIS Barbie comes complete with a cool pink laptop with case, a hot pink smartphone and a headset. Dressed in perfect geek-chic Barbie wears a binary design t-shirt with leggings and pink sneakers and her face is adorned with the almost mandatory, squarish framed glasses. These dolls and their accessories were meant to empower girls to ...
