I can’t believe I didn’t see this company when I was at CES last January, but Telikin has created computers that were originally made for senior citizens, but could easily be made for any person, young and old. According to their web site, Telikin has two designs. The first is the Telikin touch 18 inch touchscreen computer, and the second is the Telikin Elite, also a touchscreen. Each of them have similar features with an all-in-one design and virus resistant. They are set up for email, video chat, web browsing, Wi-Fi ready, with a DVD and CD player. They also have a custom interface with built-in apps, photo viewing thru Facebook, MS-Compatible Word Processor, Calendar with notifications, address book with easy-connect, and Adobe Flash Support. I have to admit that I like Telikin’s way of thinking, and I wouldn’t mind having one of their computer’s in my home as sort of a hub for the family. You know, a place to leave messages, maybe even give a...
While it’s quite easy to find notebooks with a built-in 3G modem in this day and age, it’s much less likely that you’ll find a netbook with a built-in WiMAX modem down the street. A video of a netbook prototype from a subsidiary of Quanta was surfaced, apparently taken during the WiMAX forum in Taipei recently. Thanks to the built-in WiMAX modem, you’ll be able to connect to 4G mobile broadband networks without having to use those pesky USB dongles. Quanta itself doesn’t sell computers under its own name, but manufactures PCs for other big name computer vendors. You can check out the video of this prototype netbook after the break....
Organized crime isn't what it used to be back in the days of Lucky Luciano, and folks who want to lead the Mafia lifestyle in Italy might want to consider a netbook that is able to live up to a tough lifestyle, and we don't suppose the Samsung NB30 fits the bill perfectly? This semi-rugged model is already available in the US, but the NB30 for Italy sports something different - it has a touchscreen display, making it easier to navigate while you're on the go, running away from the authorities. To take advantage of the touchscreen display, it will set you back by another €20 over the standard model....
AOC Europe is planning to introduce a 27-inch LCD sometime next month it seems, and considering the popularity of high definition, it’s no surprise to see that this monitor, the AOC V27m, will support a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display itself is only 28mm thick, and offers a 5ms response time, dynamic contrast ratio of 60,000:1 and has built-in 2W speakers. Pricing information isn’t available just yet, but you can bet that there will be a price tag attached to it when it’s officially announced in the middle of May....
Design Hara's Green PC was constructed using recyclable green materials, where the chassis of the PC itself is handcrafted from cypress wood from Italy or rose wood from Canada, while the front cover is made out of natural sheep leather (although we're sure you can always choose another animal of your choice if you want to). Internally, it comes in a bolts and nuts structure that makes it a snap to separate whenever you want to recycle it as e-waste. No mention on its power consumption, but we can safely assume that it will also sip just a little bit of juice to stay in line with the rest of its theme. ...
Can’t decide what to do with your old redundant 20GB hard drives? You could always open them up, attach some sandpaper to the platter and turn it into a machine that will help you sandpaper stuff. That’s what this user did with his hard drive, using a carefully cut piece of sandpaper. If course, you probably wouldn’t be using it for a big project, but if you’re just having some fun, this would probably be a great weekend project. Check out a video of this hard drive in action after the jump....
Don’t think that the keyboard and mouse offer you enough control over your computer? Short of using your forehead, your feet are the most obvious choice to show your computer who the boss is (no, we’re not suggesting you kick it). The USB UMA-FS1 pedal, and UMA-FS3 pedal offers an additional foot pedal, and three pedals respectively. Each pedal can be programmed to send different commands to your computer, so you can make full use of your feet (which normally aren’t doing anything anyways). This accessory might be especially useful for gamers. What do you think?...
