Let Firefox Mobile sync your Bookmarks on your Android phone

I think is it terrific to have an Android phone with access to an Internet Browser, but I don’t have access to the Bookmarks on my laptop. That is, until now. With Firefox 4, I can sync my bookmarks with my Android phone, and I would like to tell you how after the jump. First, you are going to need Firefox 4, normally there is automatic updates, but it didn’t seem happen for me on my laptop. Go ahead and check the Help section and see what version you have now, and then that should update it. Second, go to the Android marketplace on your mobile phone and download the Firefox App software. Third, once Firefox 4 is on your computer, go to the Tools section and click Options. You will see a Sync button, and click on it. This should start the setup, and you will need to enter in your email address. Fourth, open the App on your Android phone. You should see three codes that are a mixture of letters and numbers. Go ahead and enter those in on your computer. Now, you should ...

Amazon introduces Cloud Drive, Cloud Player for Web and Cloud Player for Android

Amazon thinks that the future of computing lies in cloud storage, and hence has announced a trio of new services – Cloud Drive, Cloud Player for Web and Cloud Player for Android. Basically, any one of the three allows you to buy anywhere, play your tunes anywhere while making sure your digital music collection remains in a centralized place. Of course, you can always do it the old fashioned way, which is to start in humble beginnings with 5GB of free Cloud Drive storage, and if you like it enough and feel that life is incomplete without cloud storage, then proceed and make that upgrade move to 20GB of free storage space with the purchase of any MP3 album. Basically, these services let customers securely store music in the cloud, and they are able to access it at any time of their convenience to play back on any Android phone, Android tablet, Mac or PC. Apart from that, customers are also able to easily upload their music library to Amazon Cloud Drive, and are able to save any ...

    Aircell smartphone announced

Making calls while you’re in the air is something that most of us try to avoid – after all, we’re told to turn off our electronic devices especially cell phones since they are said to interrupt with the aircraft’s communication systems, so the other alternative if you have a really desperate call to make would be to swipe your credit card and make taht really, really expensive phone call. The next time you want to do so, why not do it in style with the Aircell? This is the first inflight smartphone of its kind in the world, where the next-generation cabin handset was specially designed for business aircraft. Hmmm, sounds as though normal economy class folk won’t be seeing it in action anytime soon. Anyways, enough ranting, let us take a closer look at what the Aircell offers in the extended post. First of all, the Aircell smartphone will boast intuitive, menu-driven features, letting passengers place and receive voice calls aboard business aircraft in a ...

Gogobeans – Sharing your Stuff with a Handshake

Your digital life is constantly changing, and one new way to manage it, is with Gogobeans, a company which allows you to store information in a digital locker in the cloud and then easily share it by “bouncing” a bean to the person you’re looking to share with. Now Gogobeans is offering a new shake to bounce application to its existing content sharing platform. Shake to bounce allows you to share content with your friends just by shaking your mobile handsets to connect to each other and then to share. It doesn’t even matter if you’re both in the same room or on the other side of the world. You can share your files, photos, music, web pages, contacts, or any content you have online. Sharing your stuff with friends, family and co-workers really can’t get much easier and Gogobeans works across devices, operating systems AND networks. Using their iPhone, iPad or Android apps, you can be bouncing and shaking away. Soon they will also have Blackberry and Windows....

Two companies that specialize in cash for used cell phones

While I was at CTIA Spring 2011 in Orlando, I met two companies that essentially do the same thing: promise cash for used cellular phones. I say promise because I have not had the chance to try them out for myself. However, if you are like me, you have some used cell phones that do nothing but take up space. You might as well put them to good use and make some cash on it and go to Gazelle or Full Circle Wireless. Both of these companies work essentially the same way. You go to their websites and go through a process where you tell them exactly what you have as far as your gadget is concerned. The company will then send you a box with the postage or FedEx paid for, and you send them your gadget. The companies evaluate what you have, and, after a short time, they send you the money. There are some differences between these two companies. Full Circle Wireless is clearly in it for the planet, while Gazelle is in it for the end-users. At Full Circle Wireless, the used phone is definitely...

  • How I tested out the Dry Case with my own phone at CTIA Spring 2011

How I tested out the Dry Case with my own phone at CTIA Spring 2011

See that phone there at the bottom of the fishtank? It is mine. You might think that that I am worried that this is the last time I will see its beautiful wall paper (that’s a picture of my wife on it), but I am not, because it is in the Dry Case. We have reported on this particular device before, but it is something that you have to see to believe. The demonstration at CTIA Spring 2011 made me a believer, and I’m not certain what compelled me to risk my phone over it. Man, if it didn’t work, that would have sucked. Fortunately, the Dry Case guy was there, and sealed the bag properly. He then used this small hand-pump to create the vacuum seal, and it went into the drink. If the fish tank that you see in the picture was 100 feet deep, it would have worked. Of course, I’m not a scuba diver. If I wanted to listen to music on my phone ten feet underwater, I could do that with the Dry Buds, which are about $29.99. Also, if I wanted to take my tablet PC underwater...

Clingo is a new way to store your phone

We have reported on Clingo products before, like the Neklit for the Nano. For those who don’t know, Clingo relies on a film that will literally stick to the mobile device itself. I tried it out for myself at CTIA Spring 2011, and I have to admit that it does have a lot of sticking power. However, when I wanted to peel it off, it came off without any harm to the phone itself. In case you are wondering, you can wash it off when it becomes dirty, and it will remain sticky after that. I thought that this was easily the most unusual thing I had seen at CTIA this year, and Clingo has a whole line out of accessories for mobile phones. There is a Universal Mobile Stand for sticking your phone at the right angle, a Universal Car Phone Mount for using your phone’s GPS capability, and a Universal Game Wheel in case you want to steer with the proper racing App. I got a hold of the Universal Mobile Neklit. In case you don’t know what that is, let’s just say that if I were...
